Hands-On EKG Training for the Real World

Our 100-hour EKG Technician program combines classroom instruction, hands-on practice, and supervised EKG experience to help students develop the skills needed in real patient-care settings.

Students learn the technical skills, patient-care principles, cardiac fundamentals, safety procedures, and professional practices needed to obtain accurate EKG tracings and work effectively as part of a healthcare team.

Classroom Instruction

Build the foundation needed to understand cardiac anatomy and physiology, the electrical conduction system, EKG terminology, patient preparation, safety, and professional responsibilities.

Hands-On EKG Practice

Develop proper electrode-placement technique, operate EKG equipment, perform 12-lead EKGs, recognize artifacts, and troubleshoot common tracing problems.

Live EKG Experience

Perform supervised EKGs on live individuals and practice obtaining clear, accurate tracings while developing patient-care and communication skills.

Training Designed for National Certification Readiness

National certification can be an important step when beginning a career as an EKG Technician.

Our curriculum combines the technical knowledge and hands-on experience needed to prepare eligible graduates for certification through NHA or MedCA.

10+ EKGs on Live Individuals

Students successfully perform at least 10 EKGs on live individuals as part of their supervised hands-on training.

Accurate 12-Lead EKG Performance

Students practice patient preparation, correct electrode placement, lead acquisition, artifact recognition, and the production of clear, accurate 12-lead EKG tracings.

National Certification Testing at First Coast

Eligible graduates can take their NHA or MedCA national certification exam at First Coast Training Center after completing their training.
