BLS – Basic Life Support CPR/AED
For healthcare professionals and students:
American Heart Association BLS training covers high-quality CPR, AED use, choking response, and team-based emergency response for the healthcare environment.

Commonly required for: nurses, nursing students, CNA students, EMTs, medical assistants, radiology professionals, physical therapy students and professionals, pharmacy students, and other healthcare workers or healthcare program students.
ACLS – Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
For healthcare professionals managing cardiovascular emergencies
American Heart Association ACLS training is designed for healthcare professionals who participate in or lead the management of cardiopulmonary arrest and other cardiovascular emergencies.
✓ Same-day AHA eCard after successful completion
Commonly required for: professionals working in emergency medicine, emergency response, intensive care, critical care, and other clinical environments where advanced cardiovascular emergency training is needed.

Heartsaver CPR/AED
For people who need CPR and AED training without First Aid
This course teaches CPR, AED use, and choking response for individuals who do not require healthcare-provider BLS.

A good fit for: personal trainers, teachers, coaches, workplace safety personnel, construction workers, community groups, and individuals who want CPR/AED certification without First Aid.
Heartsaver First Aid
For people who need First Aid training without CPR
This course focuses on basic First Aid skills for responding to common medical, injury, and environmental emergencies until additional help is available.

A good fit for: teachers, childcare professionals, babysitters, camp counselors, coaches, construction and workplace safety personnel, community organizations, and others who need First Aid certification without CPR.

American Heart Association Instructor Training
Interested in becoming an American Heart Association instructor?
First Coast CPR offers instructor training for eligible individuals who want to teach American Heart Association courses.
Instructor classes are generally offered quarterly in March, June, September, and December.
CPR Training for Businesses & Groups
Train Your Team at Your Location
First Coast CPR provides CPR, AED, First Aid, BLS, and other training for businesses, schools, healthcare organizations, childcare facilities, construction companies, community groups, and other organizations.
On-site training may be available depending on group size and course requirements.
Not Sure Which Class You Need?
Choosing the correct CPR certification is important because healthcare-provider training and general workplace or community CPR courses are not the same.
If You Work in Healthcare or Are Entering a Healthcare Program
You will most likely need BLS – Basic Life Support.
BLS is commonly required for:
- Nurses and nursing students
- CNA students and nursing assistants
- EMTs and emergency-response professionals
- Medical assistants
- Radiology professionals
- Physical therapy students and professionals
- Pharmacy students and professionals
- Other healthcare workers and healthcare-program students
If You Need Both Healthcare BLS and First Aid

If You Need CPR for Work or for General Preparedness
You will most likely need one of our Heartsaver courses.
